Oktoberfest

This is Elder Care Services annual, signature event. For the past 9 years, over 500 patrons come and share in authentic German food, a traditional beirgarten, live music, and participate in a silent auction. This year’s event was held on Friday, October 12th at the Goodwood Museum and Gardens.

Let’s Do Lunch

Let Elder Care Services Bring You Lunch on Wednesday, December 12th let Elder Care Services deliver a lunch to your office. All proceeds will benefit services for seniors in the Big Bend area. For only $10 a meal, a volunteer will deliver a lunch to you between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You could plan a holiday celebration for your office or business or just order lunch for you and a co-worker (minimum 2 orders per office please). Celebrate Seniors Week

Celebrate Seniors Week is ECS’s opportunity to recognize and thank seniors who are continuing to contribute to our community and to thank volunteers who assist seniors throughout the year.

One of the major activities of Celebrate Seniors Week is KIA Auto’s “Big Wheels’ Deliver Meals” day. Highlighting the need for Meals on Wheels, our regular volunteers share the day’s meal delivery with local dignitaries and celebrities. Through the Meals on Wheels program, homebound seniors are able to live at home with the help of over 450 volunteers who deliver a hot lunch and cold snack, Monday through Friday, every week of the year. Homebound seniors are thrilled to see a famous face such as Representative Curtis Richardson, Mayor John Marks or Sheriff Larry Campbell, County Commissioner John Dailey, or City Commissioner Andrew Gillium at their front doors.

Elder Elf

We help with the basics throughout the year – food, a bath, trips to the doctor. Many seniors on very low fixed incomes have nothing to spare to celebrate the holidays. Elder Care Services hopes to brighten their holidays with our Elder Elf Program. Our care managers have identified those clients in need this holiday season. Their “Wish List” requests are often heartbreakingly modest – slippers, a sweater, or a doll for a grandchild.

There are many ways for you to help this holiday season, please contact Tabitha at (850) 921-5554 to learn more.
