In-Home Services

To every senior in need, ECS asks the question, "What do you need to make your life better; to help you be more independent, safer and healthier?"

When you call Elder Care Services for information or help, you reach a caring, well-informed Information and Referral Counselor who is committed to answering questions and responding to your requests. We can jointly develop a short or longer term care management plan and identify all the resources that might be available to you.

A Care Management plan may include some of the following in-home services:

• Light housekeeping tasks such as changing the bed, folding clothes and vacuuming
• Personal care services provided by specially trained staff to help disabled or functionally impaired seniors with bathing, dressing and grooming
• Home-delivered meals through the Meals-on-Wheels program, including a hot noon meal and cold supper Monday through Friday. Additional frozen meals may be purchased for weekends
• Transportation is available to medical appointments, pharmacy and grocery store through the S.T.A.R.S. program
• Companionship and socializing with Senior Companion Volunteers who share time with homebound seniors
• Medical Management assistance from caregivers who can remind seniors when and how much medication to take during the day
• Telephone Reassurance from volunteers who may themselves be homebound and who make daily phone calls to older persons living alone

Care Managers also explore other community resources to meet the clients’ needs. The goal is keeping the senior as independent as possible while giving them and their families the services they need.
