Caregiver Respite Care

When a family or caregiver must cope with the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and physical limitations, they face ill health and burn out from the demands of the 24-hours their loved one's need. Respite care provides short periods of "time off" to rest, shop, go to medical appointments, and take care of personal business. Studies show respite care is key in alleviating depression and preventing caregiver burn out.

A Care Manager will visit you or the person needing help and together, will create a comprehensive care management plan and decide what services are needed. Services available include:

• In-Home Services – Certified Nursing Assistants (CAN) supervised by a registered nurse.
• Elder Day Stay - A daytime home away from home
• STARS Transportation - Seniors Transporting At-Risk Seniors
• Senior Companions - In-home companions
• Supplies
• Education

Care Managers will also explore community resources, including assisted living facilities and nursing homes to meet yours or a loved one’s needs. The goal is keeping the senior as independent as possible while giving them and their families the services they need.
